IC2E 2025: Call for Papers

The IEEE International Conference on Cloud Engineering (IC2E) is a premier conference on Cloud Computing. IC2E 2025 will be held from September 23-26, 2025, in Rennes, France.

The conference provides a high-quality, comprehensive forum where researchers and practitioners can exchange information on engineering principles, enabling technologies, and practical experiences related to Cloud Computing. This year, a particular focus will be given to sustainable Cloud computing and Cloud for sustainability, while other topics are also welcome.

Submission Tracks

Authors can choose to submit their papers under either the Research and Vision Track or the Industry and Experience Track.

Topics of Interest

Submissions are invited on the following non-exhaustive list of topics for both tracks:

• Sustainability concerns on all levels of the Cloud stack and on all parts of Cloud systems
• Cloud systems for sustainability, e.g., sustainable Cloud systems for environment modeling and monitoring
• Cloud management and engineering, from single (micro-)services to complete system landscapes
• Cloud applications, ranging from the Internet of Things (IoT) over Big Data to Machine Learning
• Cloud systems, including storage, data distribution, and serverless computing
• Cloud security and privacy concerns on all levels of the Cloud stack
• Fog and Edge Computing, and all other system types in the Cloud-Edge Compute Continuum
• Everything as a Service
• Non-technical aspects of Cloud Computing, e.g., Cloud governance or cloud economics

Paper Types

IC2E is looking for the following three types of paper submissions:

• Research papers: Describe original well-evaluated research. Novelty is a key criterion.
• Vision papers: Describe speculative but well-reasoned and inspiring papers. Clarity of vision is key.
• Industry and experience papers: Describe how existing research has been transferred into practice. Lessons learned are important.

Research and vision papers should be submitted to the Research Track. Industry and experience papers should be submitted to the Industry Track. Vision papers should have "(Vision Paper)" as a subtitle on the first page.

Submission Instructions

• Paper submissions should be single-blind.
• Authors must submit full and short papers in PDF via the web submission form: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ic2e2025
• Both Research Track and Industry Track papers should use the IEEE Manuscript Template for Conference Proceedings.
  • LaTeX users must use \documentclass[10pt,conference]{IEEEtran}.

Paper Formatting:

• Full papers:
  • For reviewing: Not exceed 9 double-column pages (excluding references).
  • For final published version: Limited to a total of 12 double-column pages (including everything).
• Short papers:
  • For reviewing: Limited to 5 pages (excluding references). Clearly mark as "Short Paper" in the title.
  • For final published version: Limited to 8 pages (including everything).

IC2E strongly encourages authors to publish software and data sets as open-source/data, supporting Open Science practices.

Review Process and Publication

All submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed based on correctness, originality, technical strength, significance, quality of presentation, and relevance to the conference scope. Submitted manuscripts must contain original contributions not under consideration elsewhere.

Accepted papers will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services (EI indexed).

Authors are responsible for ensuring the complete author list is registered in Easychair. The author list cannot be changed in the final manuscript.

Papers that include text and/or images generated from a large-scale language model (LLM) such as ChatGPT are prohibited unless explicitly identified as such in the paper.

IC2E 2025 is planned as an in-person event. Authors of accepted papers are expected to arrange for an in-person attendee to present the paper.

• Abstract submission deadline: May 1st, 2025 (AoE, firm deadline)
• Full and short paper submission deadline: May 8th, 2025 (AoE, firm deadline)
• Author notification and start of shepherding phase: June 23rd, 2025
• Camera-ready copies: July 31st, 2025
