Call for Papers: IJCAI 2025
Welcome to IJCAI 2025, the 34th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence! This premier international gathering of researchers in AI will take place in Montreal, Canada, from August 16 to August 22, 2025. A satellite event will be hosted in Guangzhou, China, from August 28 to August 31, 2025, to support authors who may experience difficulties obtaining Canadian visas.
Since its founding in 1969, IJCAI has been the leading conference for the global AI community, promoting the exchange of groundbreaking advancements and achievements in artificial intelligence research.
Main Track
Submissions to IJCAI 2025 should report significant, original, and previously unpublished results on any aspect of artificial intelligence. Papers on novel AI research problems, AI techniques for novel application domains, and papers that cross discipline boundaries within AI are especially encouraged.
Special Tracks
In addition to the main track, authors can submit papers to several special tracks:
- AI, Arts & Creativity
- Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence
- AI4Tech: AI Enabling Critical Technologies
- AI And Social Good
- Survey Track
- Demonstrations Track
- Art Gallery
- Competitions and Challenges
Note: These special tracks will post their calls for papers later this year, and their deadlines, procedures, and policies may differ from those described for the main track.
Submission Requirements
Paper Length and Format
- Papers must be no longer than 9 pages in total: 7 pages for the body of the paper (including figures/tables) and up to 2 pages for references.
- An optional ethics statement can be placed either in the main body or on the reference pages.
- For accepted papers, the last two pages can also contain acknowledgements and an optional contribution statement.
- Up to two additional pages may be purchased at an additional cost per page for accepted papers.
- Overlength papers will be rejected without review.
- Papers must be submitted in PDF format and adhere to the IJCAI 2025 guidelines. Submissions that violate the style (e.g., by decreasing margins or font sizes) may be rejected without review.
- The updated LaTeX styles and Word template will be available in December 2024.
Supplementary Material
- Authors may submit up to 50MB of supplementary material (e.g., appendices, proofs, data, source code) in PDF or ZIP format.
- Supplementary material must be anonymized.
Anonymity
- IJCAI 2025 uses a double-blind reviewing process.
- Authors are responsible for anonymizing their submissions, including author names, affiliations, and any other identifying information (even in supplementary material).
- Refer to your work in the third person (e.g., "Previously, Kwok et al. [8] have shown that...").
- Remove identifying information from PDF metadata.
- Submissions that violate anonymity will be rejected without review.
Ethics Policy and Statement
- IJCAI is committed to the highest standards of research integrity.
- Submissions must adhere to fundamental ethical principles, including responsible data use and mitigating potential societal harms.
- Reviewers will flag glaring ethical violations. Such submissions will be reviewed by the Ethics Chair.
- Authors may include an ethics statement discussing ethical issues and mitigation strategies; this is optional but recommended for papers working with sensitive data or tasks.
Dual Submissions
- IJCAI 2025 will not accept papers that are currently under review, have already been published, or have been accepted for publication in a journal or another venue with formally published proceedings.
- Authors are not permitted to submit their paper to another venue during the IJCAI 2025 review period.
- Papers submitted to ICLR 2025 are eligible if notifications precede the IJCAI 2025 deadline. Resubmissions must include resubmission information, and a cover letter explaining how concerns from previous reviews were addressed is strongly encouraged.
Generative AI Models
- Generative AI models (e.g., ChatGPT, BARD, LLaMA) do not satisfy the criteria for authorship.
- Authors using LLMs in the writing process assume full responsibility for content, including plagiarism and correctness.
- Research on or involving LLMs is encouraged. Text generated by an LLM as part of the methodology or experimental analysis must be properly documented.
Author Commitment to Reviewing
- By submitting, authors volunteer to be potential PC members/reviewers for IJCAI 2025 and may be asked to review papers.
- Exemptions apply to those already involved in the organizing committee or not qualified to be PC members.
